'Kashmir Is Not Part Of Pakistan': PoJK Protesters Warn Islamabad
Anti-government protests have intensified in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), with demonstrators openly challenging Islamabad's authority amid growing anger over food shortages, rising prices and governance issues. Addressing a gathering in Rawalakot, protest leader Sardar Aman Khan alleged that authorities were deliberately disrupting the supply of essential goods and warned that residents would seek "other roads" if the blockade continued. The protests, led by the banned Jammu Kashmir Awami Action Committee (JAAC), have continued despite legal action against activists and heightened security measures. The unrest has also intensified following controversial remarks by Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif about Rawalakot and Mirpur residents. Reports suggest internet restrictions, food shortages and clashes have disrupted normal life across parts of PoJK, with at least 22 deaths reported over the past two weeks.
