Kedarnath-Badrinath Donation Row: Cong Questions BJP, Temple Committee Launches Probe

A political storm has erupted after Congress leader Jairam Ramesh accused the BJP of failing to prevent alleged financial irregularities involving donations at the Kedarnath and Badrinath temples. Questioning why such allegations are surfacing in BJP-ruled states, Ramesh also alleged that members associated with the BJP and RSS are part of the temple trusts and demanded accountability.The Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has responded by issuing show-cause notices to officials involved in donation counting and constituting an inquiry committee to investigate the allegations. The committee has assured devotees that strict action will be taken if any wrongdoing is established and has also introduced new transparency measures to handle temple donations.
