Maharashtra: 5 Dead, 17 Injured After Under-Construction Temple Roof Collapses In Parbhani

Five devotees were killed and at least 17 others injured after the roof of an under-construction Hanuman temple collapsed in Yashwadi village of Maharashtra's Parbhani district on Saturday afternoon. Officials said one injured person remains in critical condition. The temple was crowded when the incident occurred, though the exact cause of the collapse is yet to be determined. According to authorities, heavy Rajasthani pink stone slabs supported by scaffolding fell on devotees. Rescue operations were launched immediately, with five heavy machines and around 50 ambulances deployed at the site. The injured were shifted to Parbhani District Civil Hospital and other medical facilities. CCTV footage of the collapse went viral, drawing large crowds, while police undertook crowd-control measures. Financial assistance has been announced for victims and their families.
