Maharashtra TET Exam Postponed After 'Paper Leak', 3 Arrested, CM Fadnavis Orders SIT Probe
The Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (MAHA TET) 2026 has been postponed just a day before the scheduled examination after authorities uncovered a suspected question paper leak. Bhiwandi Police arrested three alleged members of a paper leak racket and recovered four sets of the original question papers, along with mobile phones and cash. Police alleged that the papers were brought from Delhi and were to be sold for around ₹1.5 crore. Following verification by the Maharashtra State Council of Examination, the exam was postponed and a criminal case was registered. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered an SIT probe, while Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said strict legal action would be taken against those responsible. The postponement has affected more than six lakh candidates across Maharashtra awaiting a revised examination date.
