'Modi Is A Swayamsevak, But...': RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Speaks On PM’s Ties With Sangh

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, while attending the event “100 years of Sangh journey – New Horizons,” said there are several misunderstandings about the Sangh and described it as the most misunderstood organisation in the world. He said there is unnecessary apprehension in public perception and added that, due to what he called malicious propaganda, people fear that the Sangh’s growth could impact their own progress. Bhagwat also referred to the common perception linking RSS with political leadership, saying people often associate the Sangh with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who he said remains ideologically connected to the organisation but functions as the head of government under the Constitution. He emphasised that political bodies are independent and that Sangh-linked institutions work autonomously while extending support only to constructive work.
