NEET UG Re-Exam Ends for 22 Lakh Candidates, Students Say Paper Was Tougher Than May 3 Test

The NEET-UG 2026 re-examination concluded smoothly on Sunday, with over 22.79 lakh candidates appearing across 551 cities in India and 14 international locations. Conducted under heightened security, the exam featured biometric verification, CCTV surveillance, strict frisking, heavy police deployment and signal jammers to ensure transparency and prevent malpractice. Candidates reported that Biology was the easiest section, while Physics was widely considered the most difficult and time-consuming. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan reviewed the arrangements from the National Testing Agency headquarters in Delhi's Okhla during the examination. According to sources cited by ANI, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delayed his departure from Delhi Airport to avoid inconveniencing students travelling to exam centres. Meanwhile, an entry-related dispute involving a burqa-wearing candidate was reported at an examination centre in Rajasthan's Ajmer.
