OMCs Say E20 Petrol Meets Quality Standards After Nationwide Testing, Reject Contamination Claims

Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have reassured consumers that E20 petrol is safe to use after conducting an intensive nationwide quality audit across the fuel supply chain. The companies said random testing at refineries, distilleries, depots, tankers and retail outlets found chloride and moisture levels well within prescribed limits. More than 1,000 fuel samples were collected under the intensified surveillance programme, with only four isolated cases showing elevated chloride levels, which were immediately addressed. OMCs have also stepped up monitoring at nearly 90,000 petrol pumps and urged consumers to continue using E20 petrol with confidence.
