PM Modi Unveils First Stretch Of Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway; Faster Travel Ahead

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the first 157.92-km stretch of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Greenfield Expressway, part of the ambitious 667-km corridor being developed at an estimated cost of Rs 38,905 crore. Once fully operational, the expressway will reduce travel time from Delhi to Katra from around 14 hours to just 6 hours, while the Delhi-Amritsar journey will come down from nearly 8 hours to about 4 hours.Connecting Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir, the expressway is expected to decongest NH-44, improve freight movement, boost religious tourism to Vaishno Devi and the Golden Temple, and unlock new opportunities in logistics, manufacturing, real estate and regional economic growth. PM Modi also inaugurated key highway projects in Haryana and Punjab and flagged off India's first hydrogen-powered train during his visit.
