'Police Are Not Servants Of CM Or PM': Bombay High Court Quashes SDPI Leader's Externment
The Bombay High Court has quashed the externment order against Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) state general secretary Saeed Ahmad Abdul Wahid Chaudhary, holding that the action was mala fide and violated Articles 14 and 21 of the Constitution. The court remarked that citizens cannot be treated as slaves of the government and that police are public servants, not servants of political leaders. Chaudhary had challenged the order issued in December 2025, which barred him from Mumbai and adjoining areas for a year over protests against the CAA, NRC and the Waqf (Amendment) Bill.
