Pune Building Buried Under Collapsing Garbage Mound, 16 Feared Trapped Amid Heavy Rain Fury

At least 16 people are feared trapped after an administrative building collapsed at a legacy waste dumping yard in Pune's Pimpri Chinchwad amid heavy rainfall. Officials said a massive mound of legacy waste became unstable and crashed onto the office building near the Moshi waste-to-energy plant. Around 20 employees were inside when the incident occurred, with four managing to escape. NDRF and fire brigade teams are conducting rescue operations and have reportedly established contact with those trapped. The incident comes as heavy monsoon rains continue to batter Maharashtra.
