Retired Transport Officer's House Raided: UP Vigilance Recovers ₹1.62 Cr Cash, Gold Worth ₹20 Cr
The Uttar Pradesh Vigilance Establishment has recovered cash, gold, silver and property documents during searches at the Lucknow residence of former Agra Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Lalit Kumar in a disproportionate assets case. Officials said the searches, conducted on July 7 and 8, led to the seizure of around ₹1.62 crore in cash allegedly hidden at multiple locations inside the house. The team also recovered about 13 kg of gold and 9 kg of silver, valued at nearly ₹20 crore. Investigators further found documents linked to at least 15 movable and immovable properties across Lucknow, Noida, Barabanki and Rae Bareli, with immovable assets estimated at around ₹13 crore. The vigilance probe is ongoing, and officials are examining the recovered documents for further legal action.
