‘Shivling Beneath Darul Uloom Deoband’: Hindu Outfit Plans Ganga Water Offering At Islamic Seminary

Tensions have emerged around Darul Uloom Deoband after the Hindu Raksha Dal announced plans to visit the Islamic seminary with Ganga water, alleging the presence of a Shivling beneath its premises. The group claims it had earlier approached the Saharanpur administration seeking an inquiry. Police have warned that any attempt to disturb law and order will invite legal action. Founded in 1866, Darul Uloom Deoband is one of South Asia’s most influential Islamic seminaries and the centre of the Deobandi tradition of Islamic scholarship.
