Tamil Nadu Vs Karnataka: Vijay Urges PM Modi To Reject Mekedatu Dam Proposal Ahead Of Delhi Visit

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi opposing Karnataka’s proposed Mekedatu dam project across the Cauvery river. Vijay argued the project violates Supreme Court judgments and threatens Tamil Nadu farmers dependent on Cauvery water. He also chaired a high-level meeting directing immediate legal action against the proposal. Meanwhile, Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar confirmed the state would soon submit the project report to the Centre. The dispute has once again intensified tensions over the sensitive Cauvery water-sharing issue.
