Telegram Loses Court Battle As Delhi HC Refuses To Lift Temporary Block | Watch

The Delhi High Court has rejected Telegram's challenge to the Centre's temporary ban on the messaging platform, ruling that the government had sufficient grounds to block access ahead of the NEET-UG re-examination. The Centre argued that Telegram was being used by paper leak and cheating networks and that its architecture made misuse difficult to control. Telegram contended that the ban was disproportionate and affected millions of users. However, the court upheld the government's action under Section 69A of the IT Act. The temporary restriction remains in force until June 22, while Telegram's message-editing feature has also been disabled in India until June 30.
