Tensions In MVA As Sanjay Raut Slams Sharad Pawar For Holding Meeting At Eknath Shinde's Office

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut expressed disappointment over NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar's visit to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's office, saying the move had hurt his party. While stressing that Shiv Sena (UBT) had no doubts about Pawar's ideology or political commitment, Raut said the visit had given "honour and prestige" to those the party considers traitors. He also questioned why Pawar chose to meet Shinde at the deputy chief minister's office. The remarks come amid ongoing tensions within the Maha Vikas Aghadi and speculation over attempts by the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena to engineer defections from the opposition alliance. Uddhav Thackeray has since convened a meeting of party legislators.
