Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has responded to the controversy surrounding Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Dina Patil's alleged threatening remarks against journalists. Shinde said Patil had no intention of insulting the media and that his reaction stemmed from repeated personal attacks on him and his family. At the same time, Shinde stressed that journalists should never be disrespected, describing them as essential partners in a democratic system. He also criticised the growing use of abusive language and personal attacks in Maharashtra politics, saying such conduct is not part of the state's democratic culture or traditions.
