TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee’s Close Aide, Sumit Roy, Booked in Fraud and Forgery Case

Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee's close aide Sumit Roy has been booked in a fresh fraud and forgery case in West Bengal's Paschim Medinipur district. According to police, the complainant has accused Roy of cheating and forgery, while former TMC MLA Sujoy Hazra has also been named in the case. Roy has reportedly been absconding for some time and was recently booked in a separate land-grab case, following which a lookout notice was issued against him. Police had also conducted a search operation at Abhishek Banerjee's Kolkata residence to trace Roy. The CID has said it is examining the allegations and collecting relevant documents. Officials maintain that every claim will be verified on the basis of evidence before any further legal action is taken.
