A 21-year-old Brazilian woman survived a 130-foot fall from a bridge after being launched off without a safety rope, only to die from her injuries shortly after, according to reports.

The incident took place on Saturday, June 13, at the Ponte do Esqueleto Trail, commonly known as Skeleton Bridge, in Limeira, Brazil. Videos that subsequently circulated on social media showed two men carrying the woman before throwing her off the bridge.

An off-duty nurse who reached the scene told local media that the woman was still alive when she hit the ground. Rayza Dias, in a video that has since gone viral, said she checked the victim's vitals after the fall.

"She was breathing heavily, and I looked at her pupils, which unfortunately, were both dilated, and felt her pulse. It was very weak, but she still had a pulse," Dias said. "I even talked to her. I told her, 'nobody dies on my shift.' Even though I wasn't on my shift."

Three men have been arrested in connection with the incident and charged with homicide with dolus eventualis, a legal provision applicable when the accused is aware of a risk of death but proceeds regardless.

The victim, identified as Ms. de Freitas, was reportedly wearing a GoPro-style camera at the time of the jump. Police said the device could not be located at the scene, and the instructors claimed to have no knowledge of its whereabouts.

Brazil's Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services confirmed that the company conducting the activity was not authorised to carry out jumps from the bridge.

Ms. de Freitas was buried in São Paulo State on Sunday, the Associated Press reported.
