CBSE 12th Result 2026: Controversy Over Declining Pass Percentage
CBSE Result 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has surprised millions of students and parents with the 12th-grade results this year. The sudden drop in the pass percentage has sparked a new debate in the education sector. Following the announcement of the results, numerous students expressed dissatisfaction regarding their scores, raising concerns about the digital evaluation process.
This year, CBSE introduced the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system for the first time, which the board claimed would enhance transparency and speed in the evaluation process. However, after the results were released, students took to social media to voice their frustrations, arguing that the digital assessment failed to accurately evaluate detailed answers.
Official Response from CBSE
In response to the controversy surrounding the 12th-grade results and the OSM evaluation system, CBSE issued an official statement. This clarification came after students, parents, and teachers raised concerns on social media about unexpectedly low scores in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics. Some students even claimed they failed the CBSE board exams despite passing competitive exams like JEE. Defending the digital evaluation process, CBSE stated that the OSM system ensures transparency, fairness, and consistency in marking.
