Aerospace Components Maker JJG Aero Raises $30 Mn From Norwest
Aerospace components manufacturer JJG Aero has secured $30 Mn (INR 275 Cr) in its Series B round from investment firm Norwest.
The fresh funds will be deployed primarily to build JJG Aero’s upcoming facility in North Bengaluru, boost vertical integration, and support other strategic initiatives.
Founded in 2008 by Anuj Jhunjhunwala, JJG Aero manufactures seating and cargo systems for planes, landing gear, air management systems, and electric systems. It counts the likes of Boeing, Pratt & Whitney, Liebherr, Collins, and Safran among its clients.
JJG Aero also manufactures automotive and industrial equipment via a subsidiary at its Jigani unit in Karnataka. The company inaugurated its first dedicated aerospace manufacturing facility in 2019.
“From having two small one-acre sites, we are now building a massive third unit on a 10-acre site with further backward and forward integration, and space to expand into adjacencies at the opportune time,” Jhunjhunwala said.
With this, the company’s total funding has increased to $42 Mn. Prior to this round, it raised $12 Mn from India-focused private equity fund CX Partners in April 2024.
The funding comes at a time when India is emerging as a reliable manufacturing partner for companies across the globe. Boosted by the various incentives provided by the Centre and state governments, a number of companies are supplying aerospace components to global OEMs.
Besides, a number of startups have also emerged over the past few years that are working on innovative solutions for the broader aerospace industry. Investors are aggressively backing these companies as they look to capitalise on the ‘Make In India’ movement.
For instance, Aerospace manufacturer Aequs went public in December last year, raising INR 670 Cr through a fresh issue of shares. In August 2025, Jeh Aerospace, another manufacturer in the segment, raised $11 Mn in its Series A funding round led by Elevation Capital.
