Authorities have arrested an 18-year-old man from Northern California in connection with a tragic shooting at a public library that resulted in two fatalities. The suspect, identified as Bradley Scott Sayer from Chico, was taken into custody on Monday evening following the incident at the Butte County Library's Chico branch. Chico Police Chief Billy Aldridge reported that officers arrived shortly after 5 PM on Monday after receiving a 911 call from the library, during which gunshots and screams were audible. As law enforcement entered the building, Sayer attempted to escape through the back but was captured by officers stationed outside. Aldridge described the event as deeply saddening and traumatic for many in the community during a press briefing.
