India summons US chargé d'affaires over attack on vessel with 24 Indian crew off Oman coast
India on Wednesday summoned Jason Meeks, Chargé d’Affaires of the United States, to protest an attack on the commercial vessel Settebello off the coast of Oman that had 24 Indian crew members on board.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said Nagaraj Naidu, Additional Secretary (Americas), summoned Meeks following the incident, which India condemned.

According to the MEA, 21 of the 24 Indian crew members have been rescued, while three remain missing.
India reiterated its call for de-escalation, protection of commercial shipping, and the restoration of safe navigation in international waters.
The MEA said the government remains closely engaged on the matter as efforts continue regarding the missing crew members.
