Kartik Aaryan & Sreeleela's Romantic Musical Gets A New Title & It's Not Aashiqui 3 - Report

While we all wait for Kartik Aaryan, Sreeleela and Anurag Basu’s Aashiqui 3’s release, the upcoming film might be going in a completely different direction. The film is reportedly undergoing a title change from Aashiqui 3 to Tu Meri Zindagi Hai.

The film was initially set to be a new instalment in the Aashiqui franchise, but it is apparently seeing one drastic change after another. From directorial changes to the alleged change of the title, Aaryan’s new romantic film has gone from a sequel to an inspired adaptation.

Kartik Aaryan’s Film Gets Renamed to Tu Meri Zindagi Hai

When Mukesh Bhatt and Bhushan Kumar parted ways, Anurag Basu and the latter took the creative liberty to make it an individual film rather than part of a franchise. After the two parted ways, the film was supposed to undergo major changes so as to avoid legal complications.

source claimed, “When choosing the title, it was a pre-emptive move by the makers to avoid making a direct reference to Aashiqui. The team wanted a name that evoked nostalgia but didn’t risk legal or creative complications. Tu Meri Zindagi Hai felt like the perfect fit.”

Although the filming process indicated that it would be a sequel, the creative decision was reportedly made to instead transform it into a standalone film.

The websiteclaims that not only will it be a standalone, but Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela’s film’s name is also going to be changed to Tu Meri Zindagi Hai. This way, it doesn’t get tied to the franchise but also doesn’t try to hide the fact that the movie has been inspired by it.

From Aashiqui 3 to Tu Meri Zindagi Hai

While an official announcement is yet to be made, reports point towards Tu Meri Zindagi Hai

being the final title of the film. It doesn’t directly connect to the Aashiqui duology but uses Anuradha Paudwal and Kumar Sanu’s song to still maintain ties.

Furthermore, the source added that, “It’s a classic love story with Basu’s signature treatment of the genre. With the release more than six months away, it gives the team time to weave in some additional tracks. The latest schedule is underway in Mumbai, and the film will be shot till 2025-end, with patch work spilling on to early 2026.”

Despite the change, the film remains on schedule for its release on 1st May 2026. The filming is underway and will continue until the end of 2025, and it will debut the possible power-packed duo of Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela.
