Odisha DGP Reviews Security Measures For President Murmu's Mayurbhanj Visit
Bhubaneswar: Elaborate security are being made for the upcoming visit of President Droupadi Murmu to Mayurbhanj district on June 19 and 20.
Director General of Police (DGP) Y B Khurania personally reviewed arrangements while inspecting key locations in the district.
The police chief assessed security and law-and-order measures during his visit to Mayurbhanj and directed officials to ensure flawless implementation of all VVIP security protocols.
Khurania inspected the public meeting venue in Rairangpur sub-division, the helipad, carcade routes and other sensitive locations earmarked for the visit. Anticipating a large turnout at the public event, he instructed officials to strengthen crowd management measures, streamline entry and exit arrangements and reinforce overall security deployment.
The DGP also visited the President’s place of stay and her ancestral village, where he reviewed security plans and held discussions with concerned officials regarding the arrangements.
In order to minimise inconvenience to the public during the VVIP movement, Khurania directed authorities to prepare a comprehensive traffic management plan and route chart to ensure smooth movement while causing minimal disruption to daily activities.
The DGP further asked district police officials to intensify intelligence gathering, enhance patrolling across the district and maintain strict surveillance on any suspicious activities ahead of the visit.
