Persistence wins: Pooja clears BPSC after 6 failures, secures DSP post
Patna, June 26 (IANS) Pooja Kumari from Buxar district in Bihar is an inspiration for students preparing for competitive examinations. While many students give up after repeated failures, Pooja did not lose hope. She secured the 999th rank in the 70th BPSC examination and was selected for the post of DSP.
Pooja had previously appeared in the BPSC and UPSC exams six times. However, she could not succeed. Despite this, she did not lose hope. Pooja continued her preparation with strong self-belief that she would succeed one day. After her success, there is an atmosphere of celebration in her village. Her family and villagers now dream of their daughters becoming like Pooja.
In a conversation with IANS, Pooja Kumari on Friday said she is from Kesath village in Buxar district.
Her father is a farmer, and her mother is a homemaker.Pooja said she prepared for the DSP post for about 7–8 years. In the 64th BPSC exam, she reached the interview stage but was not selected. In the 65th, she could not clear the prelims. In the 66th, she cleared the mains but did not succeed further. After that, she failed to clear prelims three more times. Finally, in the 70th BPSC exam, she secured 999th rank and achieved the DSP post.
She said that after every failure, she felt she might never succeed, but continuous encouragement from her parents and family kept her motivated.
