Raw Banana Tuk Recipe: Crispy, Spicy & Delicious Evening Snack That Everyone Will Love

Newspoint

Raw banana tuk is a crunchy and flavorful snack that makes a perfect alternative to potato-based snacks. Lightly spiced and double-fried for extra crispiness, this dish is enjoyed by both kids and adults. Traditionally inspired by Sindhi cuisine, tuk is usually made with potatoes, but raw banana is a healthier and equally tasty variation.

Easy to prepare at home, raw banana tuk takes around 25–30 minutes and works well as an evening snack served with green chutney or ketchup.

Ingredients

To make raw banana tuk for 3–4 people, you will need:

  • 1/2 kg raw bananas

  • Oil for frying

  • 1 tsp red chilli powder

  • 1 tsp chaat masala

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder

  • 1 tsp dry mango powder (amchur)

  • Salt to taste

Step-by-Step Recipe Step 1: Boil the Bananas

Wash the raw bananas thoroughly and blanch them in boiling water until slightly soft. Make sure they do not become too mushy.

Step 2: Peel and Cut

Remove the skin carefully and cut the bananas into medium-sized pieces (around 2 inches each).

Step 3: First Fry

Heat oil in a pan and fry the banana pieces on medium flame until they turn light golden. Remove and keep them aside.

Step 4: Flatten the Pieces

Using the base of a glass or bowl, gently press each fried piece to flatten it. This helps create a crispy texture.
