Switch from WhatsApp to Arattai Effortlessly: Export Chats in Minutes, Safeguard Your Data

Newspoint

For those looking to switch from WhatsApp to the Indian messaging app Arattai, there’s good news. You can now easily transfer your chat history from WhatsApp to Arattai, enabling a smooth transition and allowing you to eventually delete your WhatsApp account if desired.

Arattai, developed by Zoho, is gaining popularity as a homegrown alternative to WhatsApp. While WhatsApp offers robust end-to-end encryption across all chats, Arattai currently supports this feature selectively but continues to grow due to its Indian-centric approach and government endorsements.

To transfer chats, install Arattai and grant it access to your contacts. In WhatsApp, open the chat you want to export, tap on the profile, and select “Export Chat.” You can choose to include media files like photos and videos. Then, select Arattai from the sharing options to send the chat there. Note that the export will only succeed if the contact is also using Arattai.

Before fully leaving WhatsApp, it’s essential to back up your chat data. Navigate to WhatsApp Settings > Chats > Chat Backup to save all your conversations. You can also export individual chat histories to Gmail for safekeeping. To do this, export the chat and choose Gmail as the export destination, allowing you to download and review the chat from your mail anytime.

If you decide to delete your WhatsApp account after backing up, go to WhatsApp Settings > Account > Delete My Account. Enter your mobile number to confirm and permanently delete your WhatsApp presence.

This seamless process helps ensure privacy and continuity as users transition from WhatsApp to Arattai during growing interest in local messaging solutions.
