TMC's Internal Struggles Exposed

In a striking public critique within the Trinamool Congress (TMC), senior leader Sukendu Shekhar Roy has openly questioned the party's operations, alleging a decline in internal democracy, rampant institutional corruption, and excessive control by the political consulting firm IPAC. Speaking candidly about the party's current state, Roy expressed his belief that TMC is heading towards fragmentation due to a lack of self-reflection following electoral defeats. He stated, 'I believe the party will disintegrate. They are not accepting their losses.'

Roy further claimed that there is no room for internal debate or dissent within the party, asserting that decisions are now made unilaterally. He remarked, 'I have tried to voice some concerns, but there is no space for discussion in our party.' According to him, the decision-making structure has become excessively centralized, indicating that democratic processes within the organization have effectively collapsed.

Defending his earlier social media posts where he described the current situation as chaotic, Roy insisted that his comments reflect reality. He noted, 'I tweeted about the chaos because that is what truly exists.' His remarks carry weight as he has long been regarded as one of the senior-most MPs and intellectual voices within TMC.

Roy emphasized the responsibility of the Chief Minister to ensure safety for all societal segments—men, women, and children. He highlighted West Bengal's cultural tradition of worshipping female deities like Durga and Kali, stating, 'In a state like West Bengal, if women continue to face disrespect without any proper consequences or justice, it is a serious issue.' He pointed out that in the RG Kar case, every possible effort was made to suppress and conceal the matter, involving senior police officials as well.
