UK's best Bangladeshi restaurant named and it's in a little seaside town

If you think you've had the best Bangladeshi cuisine, you might want to reconsider and take a trip to the little seaside town of Alnwick. It was just awarded the best Bangladeshi cuisine in the UK.

Shen Khan won the award organised by Oceanic Awards against 8 other restaurants nominated for the award.

With a good rating of 4.7 on TripAdvisor, fans of the restaurant seem to all be saying the same thing, leaving comments such as ''tasty food'' and ''friendly reception''.

Fans of the eatery can tuck into a range of dishes, including jalfrezi and tandoori chicken.

The hot spot was also crowned the best of its kind in the North East.

Curry houses around the country were awarded by region and city, but Sher Khan was awarded the best overall. The awards ceremony took place in Birmingham this week, and 2025 marks its 14th year.
