Will continue to invest in India: Unilever CEO Fernando Fernandez
MUMBAI: Unilever chief executive Fernando Fernandez said that the company will continue to invest in India to protect its leadership position in the country.
"We believe that the next decade is the decade of India," he told investors, adding that the country will be a key contributor to the growth story of Unilever.
The dove soap maker expects its India arm, Hindustan Unilever, to deliver a high-single digit growth in the coming quarters, with profit growth slightly outpacing revenue growth, according to chief financial officer Srinivas Phatak.

HUL has outperformed its global counterparts in terms of significant metrics in the first quarter of FY27, such as volume and value growth which stood at 5% and 10%, respectively.
It has also led the way in the home and personal care segment globally.
"India, which is our second largest market, has accelerated strongly," said Fernandez, adding that the company achieved a record market share in India in both laundry and hair, its two biggest categories here.
