Angela and Ivan are Russian urban climbers and daredevils who have built a reputation for doing things that most people wouldn't even dare to imagine. Their videos often show them climbing some of the world's tallest buildings without ropes, harnesses, or any visible safety equipment. For them, heights aren't something to fear. They're a way of life.

Not your average couple

And while most couples celebrate their love with a vacation, a dinner reservation, or perhaps a carefully planned proposal, Angela and Ivan decided that none of those options were dramatic enough. Instead, they chose one of the most famous buildings in the world.

A proposal above the clouds

According to videos and reports shared online, the couple managed to reach the very top sections of New York City's Empire State Building without authorization. Even looking at the footage can make your hands sweat. The city stretches beneath them. The wind was strong enough to shake a person's balance. One wrong step could have unimaginable consequences. Yet there they were, standing calmly at a height of roughly 1,450 feet, looking more relaxed than most people do while standing on a balcony.
At one point during their climb, they unfurled a banner carrying a message about love and peace. It's difficult not to admire the sheer confidence required to stand at that height and still have the mental energy to think about improving humanity. Most of us would probably spend a long time rethinking every decision we've ever made.
