UK PM Keir Starmer Praises Indian Fintechs, Calls UK a “Gateway to the World”

At the Global Fintech Festival (GFF) 2025, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer lauded India’s growing influence in the global fintech landscape, calling the country a driving force of innovation and inclusion.

Speaking before a packed audience of investors, entrepreneurs, and policymakers, Starmer said, “This room has the superstars of Indian fintech, increasingly looking out to the world. So I am here to extend an invitation to all of you to do business with Britain, to see the UK as your gateway to doing global.”

Starmer acknowledged India’s rapid progress in digital finance and entrepreneurial excellence, crediting homegrown innovators like Paytm for reshaping financial technology and expanding its global presence.
