BTS's SUGA Faces Fine For Driving An Electric Scooter After Consuming Alcohol
SUGA, a member of the globally acclaimed K-pop group BTS, has been fined 15 million won (approximately $11,194) for riding an electric scooter while under the influence of alcohol.
The Seoul Western District Court, led by Judge Lee Yoo Seop, issued the fine on September 27. This decision followed a summary indictment by the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office on September 10, which charged SUGA with violating the Road Traffic Act due to drunk driving .
In South Korea, a summary order allows for fines and penalties to be imposed without a formal trial. However, the accused has the option to request a trial within a week if they wish to contest the ruling.
