Despite the global shift towards electrification, Bentley CEO Frank-Steffen Walliser has indicated that pure-petrol versions of the Continental GT, Flying Spur, and Bentayga will continue alongside plug-in hybrid and electric models. This move reflects a careful balance between evolving market demands and preserving the driving experience Bentley is renowned for.
Continuation of Petrol-Powered Icons
The Continental GT, Flying Spur, and Bentayga, pillars of Bentley's range, will continue to feature petrol engines. Initially, the company intended to focus exclusively on plug-in hybrid and electric successors for these models. However, Walliser’s announcement signifies a strategic reversal, introducing pure petrol variants to meet ongoing customer demand. This ensures that traditional performance and luxury remain accessible to Bentley aficionados even as the brand transitions toward electrification.EV Expansion on the Horizon
Bentley’s electrification journey is set to gain momentum from 2026 onwards, with plans to introduce new plug-in hybrid or fully electric models annually. The first model in this series will be an electric urban SUV, showcasing Bentley’s dedication to sustainable innovation. This phased approach reflects a careful alignment with consumer readiness, allowing the brand to gradually integrate electric technology without compromising on luxury or performance. You may also like
