Adventure motorcycle enthusiasts in India have reason to celebrate as Ducati has officially launched the 2025 Multistrada V4 and V4 S. The latest models continue the brand’s focus on long-distance touring and high-performance riding, but now arrive with refined styling cues, more advanced electronic systems, and new riding aids. While the motorcycles retain their high-capacity V4 engine, Ducati has made them more efficient, safer, and easier to handle, enhancing their position in the premium adventure segment.

Refined V4 Engine With Better Efficiency

Both the Multistrada V4 and V4 S are powered by the same 1,158cc Granturismo V4 engine, which produces 170hp at 10,750rpm and 124Nm of torque at 9,000rpm. What is new is the extended cylinder deactivation system, which goes beyond simply shutting down the rear cylinders at idle. The feature now deactivates the rear bank even at low speeds, reactivating only when significant throttle input is demanded. Ducati claims this update improves fuel efficiency and reduces emissions by around six percent, making the adventure bike more sustainable without sacrificing performance. Importantly, the engine is also now compatible with India’s E20 fuel standards.

Advanced Electronics For Greater Precision

Ducati has introduced its Ducati Vehicle Observer (DVO) system, first seen on the Panigale V4, into the Multistrada line-up. By processing simulated inputs from over 70 sensors, DVO enhances the performance of Ducati Traction Control, Wheelie Control, and ABS systems. This ensures greater precision when tackling varied road surfaces, sharp corners, or sudden braking scenarios.

On the V4 S variant, the radar system has been updated with a new Forward Collision Warning (FCW). This alerts riders through the dashboard if they approach traffic ahead too quickly, adding an extra layer of safety to existing features such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Blind Spot Detection (BSD).

Smarter Suspension And Handling Upgrades

The 2025 Multistrada V4 features fully adjustable Marzocchi suspension, while the V4 S gains a semi-active suspension system with notable improvements. It now includes self-levelling functionality and bump detection, automatically adjusting rear suspension in real time to handle unpredictable road conditions.

A key addition is the Automatic Lowering Device, which lowers the motorcycle by up to 30mm when speed drops below 10kph. This makes it easier for riders to manage the heavy bike during slow manoeuvres or when stationary, offering more confidence for shorter riders and in stop-go traffic situations.

Updated Riding Modes For Diverse Terrains

Ducati has added a new Wet mode to the Multistrada V4’s list of riding options, designed specifically for slippery or low-grip conditions. The Enduro mode, popular among off-road enthusiasts, has also been recalibrated to provide a better balance between traction and stability. Other features carried forward include three-stage Engine Brake Control, a bi-directional quickshifter, Vehicle Hold Control, and cruise control, reinforcing the bike’s credentials as a versatile long-distance tourer.

Pricing And Variants

The new generation of the Multistrada V4 arrives at a premium, with prices starting at ₹22.98 lakh for the base variant and ₹28.64 lakh for the V4 S. This represents a price increase of approximately ₹1.5–1.9 lakh over the previous models. Additionally, buyers opting for spoke wheels on the V4 S will need to spend an extra ₹1.26 lakh. While the price hike is significant, Ducati’s comprehensive list of updates, advanced electronics, and enhanced safety features ensure the models remain competitive in India’s luxury adventure touring motorcycle market.

Ducati’s Bet On Indian Adventure Touring

With the 2025 Multistrada V4 range, Ducati is clearly aiming to strengthen its presence in the Indian premium motorcycle segment. The updates reflect a growing demand for adventure tourers that combine power, comfort, and modern safety aids. By making the bikes more fuel-efficient and compliant with E20 standards, Ducati also positions itself as future-ready in line with India’s evolving regulations.

For adventure enthusiasts who demand performance alongside comfort and cutting-edge rider assistance, the new Multistrada V4 and V4 S deliver a compelling package, albeit at a higher cost.
