Renault Triber Turbo Petrol Launch In India: Expected Engine, Power And Details

The possibility of a Renault Triber Turbo has been discussed for some time, with earlier reports pointing towards a turbocharged petrol option being introduced by the end of the year. However, the current Triber line-up has continued without this engine option.

Why The Turbo Engine Matters

The Renault Triber is already positioned as a practical and spacious MPV, but a turbo petrol engine could give it stronger performance, particularly when carrying several passengers or luggage.

Reports suggest Renault could use its 1.0-litre HR10 turbo petrol engine for the upcoming Triber. This is the same engine family that powers models such as the Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.

Expected Renault Triber Turbo Engine Specifications

The HR10 is a three-cylinder, 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. In its existing applications, it produces up to 100 hp and 160 Nm of peak torque.

The engine is expected to be offered with either a five-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic transmission. If introduced in the Triber, the additional torque could make the MPV better suited to carrying heavier loads while also providing stronger acceleration compared with a naturally aspirated setup.

However, Renault has not confirmed the final specifications or transmission combination for the Triber Turbo at this stage.

Renault Triber Turbo CNG Could Also Be Coming

The turbo petrol version may not be the only interesting development for the Triber. A test vehicle was recently spotted in Pune wearing both a CNG sticker on the rear windshield and a Turbo badge on the tailgate.

This has led to speculation that Renault could also be preparing a Renault Triber Turbo CNG for India. If launched, it would represent a significant addition to the Triber range and potentially become the brand’s first turbo CNG car in the Indian market.

Launch Timeline Still Awaited

The Renault Triber Turbo petrol is expected to arrive around September or October 2026, although an exact launch date has not been confirmed. The reported combination of a 1.0-litre turbo engine, 100 hp and 160 Nm could make the MPV a more appealing choice for buyers looking for stronger performance.

For now, Renault’s official confirmation will be crucial, particularly regarding the engine specifications, gearbox options, pricing and whether the suspected Turbo CNG version will also make it to production.
