Tata Sierra EV Expected Launch Date, Features, Range And Price: Everything You Need To Know

Expected Launch


Tata Motors has already stated the Sierra EV to launch somewhere in the second quarter of the financial year 2027 (Q2 FY2027) which corresponds to approximately July-September 2026. Some early reports suggested an April-June launch window for the Sierra EV but the latest guidance point to the second quarter of FY2027.

Expected Rate


The Tata Sierra EV is expected to launch in 4 variants-


1. Smart (Base variant) – The Smart Variant of the Sierra EV provides a 55kwh battery with a Rear-Wheel-Drive setting at an expected price point of 17-18 lakhs.

2. Pure – The Pure Variant of the Sierra EV provides 65kwh battery with a Rear-Wheel-Drive setting at an expected price point of 19-20 lakhs.


3. Creative – The Creative Variant of the Sierra EV provides 65kwh with a Rear-Wheel-Drive setting at an expected price point of 21-22 lakhs.

4. Empowered+ (Top End Variant) – The Empowered+ Variant of the Sierra EV provides a 75kwh battery with an All-Wheel-Drive setting at an expected price point of 24-25 lakhs.

Platform and Powertrain


The Tata Sierra EV is expected to use the same Tata’s Acti.ev platform previously used in all other Tata EV ’s. The Sierra EV is expected to be offered with a Rear Wheel Drive, a Dual Motor All Wheel Drive on its higher variants and multiple battery pack options ranging from 55kwh to 75kwh. The 55kwh battery provides a range of 400 km ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) range while the 65kwh battery provides a range of 538 km ARAI range and the 75kwh battery provides a range of 600+ km ARAI range.


The Real-World range on Indian Roads factoring in traffic, weight and AC use is expected to fall to 450-500 km on the 75kwh pack. This range is actually enough for a Delhi-Jaipur run and back, without charging.

Expected Design and Features


1. Exterior highlights

The Tata Sierra EV comes with a full connected DRL LED both at the front and the rear and closed off grille with aerodynamic design. Additional exterior highlights include flush fitted door handles, aerodynamic alloy wheels and short overhangs for a purposeful look. Tata has also provided the wraparound rear glass which is the signature detail of the iconic Sierra from the 1990’s.

2. Interior and Technology

The Sierra EV is loaded with a triple screen setup comprising of a 12.3-inch infotainment + 10.25-inch driver display + 12.3-inch co-passenger screen. The steering comes with 4 spoked and an illuminated Tata logo in the centre. Additional interior highlights include panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, Android based OS with in-built Alexa Voice AI, Tata Connected EV app with remote control, 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS (Advance Driver Assistance System) and electronic parking brake with hill hold.

The Tata Sierra EV is also expected to provide a Lounge Variant which will offer a 4-seater ‘Lounge layout’ on top variants. This variant is expected to comprise of rear seats with recline, slide and “BOSS MODE’ functions. This transforms the car into a premium segment chauffeur driven experience which also makes it the first in its segment to provide such amenities to the consumer.
