Mahindra is preparing to give its flagship SUV, the XUV700, a major facelift. Ever since its launch in 2021, the SUV has remained one of the most popular choices among Indian buyers. Now, Mahindra plans to revamp it with a more modern design and advanced features, aiming to make it even more appealing when it returns to the market.

Test mules of the new XUV700 have already been spotted on Indian roads, revealing several design upgrades. The facelifted model is expected to feature a new front grille, slim LED projector headlamps, redesigned bumpers, and stylish alloy wheels

. While the SUV will retain its signature side profile and flush door handles, the rear will likely see a redesigned bumper and a contemporary LED lighting signature, giving it a more premium and dynamic look.

Inside, Mahindra is focusing on making the cabin far more high-tech. The SUV could feature a triple-screen setup comprising an infotainment unit, a digital driver display, and a co-passenger screen. Other expected upgrades include dual-tone upholstery, rear ventilated seats, and an extra wireless charging pad

. A significant change will also be the addition of a 16-speaker 1400W Harman Kardon sound system, replacing the earlier Sony setup. In terms of technology, the facelift will boast Level-2 ADAS, auto parking assist, and a redesigned steering wheel, raising the luxury and safety quotient of the SUV.

Mechanically, the engine options are expected to remain unchanged

. The facelifted XUV700 will continue with the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines, both paired with 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options, along with the availability of all-wheel drive (AWD). This ensures that the SUV will continue delivering the powerful performance it is already known for.

Although Mahindra has not announced an official launch timeline, reports suggest that the XUV700 facelift could make its Indian debut by early 2026

. With its updated styling, cutting-edge features, and proven performance, it is expected to set a new benchmark in its segment.
