As a fresh week begins on June 8, customers planning to visit a bank branch should take a quick look at the holiday calendar. A little preparation can save you from making an unnecessary trip when the branch is closed.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has already released its holiday schedule for June, and while there are no major nationwide weekday holidays next week, banks will observe their regular weekend closures.

Bank Holidays Next Week

There are no nationwide public holidays from Monday to Friday during the coming week. However, banks will remain shut on:

• June 13 (Second Saturday): All bank branches across the country will remain closed.
• June 14 (Sunday): Weekly holiday for banks.

Customers are advised to complete any important branch-related work before the weekend.

More Bank Holidays Later in June

Apart from the regular weekend breaks, several regional holidays are scheduled later this month:

• June 15: Banks will remain closed in parts of Mizoram for YMA Day and in Odisha for Raja Sankranti.
• June 25-26: Bank branches in several major cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata, are expected to remain closed on account of Muharram.
• June 29: Banks in Shimla will observe a holiday for Guru Kabir Jayanti.
• June 30: Banks in Aizawl will remain closed for Remna Ni.

Since some holidays are state-specific, customers should check the schedule applicable to their location.

Online Banking Will Continue

Even when physical branches are closed, most banking services will remain available round the clock.
Customers can continue using:

• UPI for instant payments
• NEFT and RTGS for fund transfers
• Net banking and mobile banking apps
• Bill payment services
• ATM facilities for cash withdrawals

This means routine transactions can still be completed without visiting a branch.

Although digital banking services are generally available 24/7, occasional maintenance work may temporarily affect certain services. However, holiday closures mainly impact physical bank branches.
