A farmer from Mahuakheda village allegedly became the victim of a cyber fraud after receiving a message claiming to be related to the PM Kisan Yojana. According to the complaint, the message contained a link asking beneficiaries to update their e-KYC for 2026.
Believing the message to be genuine, the farmer clicked on the link. Soon after, his mobile phone and WhatsApp account were reportedly compromised. Taking advantage of the access, fraudsters allegedly carried out multiple unauthorised transactions and withdrew around Rs 3.90 lakh from his bank account.
