Abhijeet Dipke , founder of the Cockroach Janta Party ( CJP ), has asked students, parents, and job aspirants from across the country to gather at Delhi's Jantar Mantar on June 20. But it isn't a typical protest call. Dipke has urged people to carry a thali and a chamach with them.

Why a Thali And Chamach?

The mention of thalis and spoons immediately reminded many of the days of the COVID-19 lockdown. In 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had asked people to clap, ring bells, and bang utensils from their homes to show support for frontline workers fighting the pandemic. Years later, a similar scene was seen at Jantar Mantar with students and job aspirants expected to arrive with thalis and spoons following Dipke’s call for the June 20 protest .

A Protest Meant to Be Heard

Unlike traditional demonstrations that rely on speeches and banners, this protest plans to use sound as a symbol of public frustration. Dipke has called on supporters to bring metal plates and spoons and make a lot of noise together, turning the meet into a symbolic expression of anger and disappointment. The idea is to make sure that students’ concerns are not only seen but heard. The call has quickly gained traction on the internet, with supporters posting messages urging people to travel to Delhi and take part in what organizers hope will be one of the biggest student-led protests in recent months.
