Brutal Axe Killing: Man Murders Entire Family, Including Wife And Teenage Sister
In a tragic incident in Madhya Pradesh's Chhindwara district , a man killed eight members of his family with an axe before taking his own life, police reported on Wednesday. The brutal attack occurred late Tuesday night in the tribal village of Bodal Kachhar, approximately 145 kilometers from Chhindwara's district headquarters. Authorities indicated that the man had been suffering from mental health issues .
At around 2:30 am, while the family was asleep, Dinesh Gond, also known as Bhura, went on a violent spree . His victims included his mother Siyabai, 55; his wife Varsha, 23; his brother Shravan Kumar, 35; and Shravan's wife Baratobai, 30. He also killed his 16-year-old sister Parvati, five-year-old nephew Krishna, and nieces Sewnti, 4, and Deepa, 1.
All eight victims died instantly. Additionally, he attacked a 10-year-old neighbor, who was saved by the child's grandmother.
Neighbors, alerted by the screams, rushed into the house, prompting Dinesh to flee. His body was later discovered hanging from a tree about 100 meters from the house.
The motive for the attack remains unclear, and police have launched an investigation. Local residents noted that Dinesh's mental health had deteriorated significantly after his marriage.
