Man With Snake Seen Begging for Money on Sabarmati Express; Video Goes Viral
A disturbing scene aboard the Ahmedabad Sabarmati Express has set social media buzzing. A viral video shows a man carrying a snake and begging for alms, leaving passengers visibly shaken.
The clip, shared by X user @draghu888, captures the man dangling what appears to be a non-venomous rat snake just inches away from commuters. Several frightened passengers are seen handing over money as he makes his way through the coach. The incident reportedly occurred between Mungaoli and Bina junction in Gujarat.
As the video gained traction, the Indian Railways swiftly responded. The official Railway Seva handle urged the uploader to share journey details and assured that the Railway Protection Force (RPF) would investigate. Passengers were also reminded that concerns can be raised via RailMadad or the helpline number 139.
“We will require your journey details (PNR / UTS no.) & mobile no. preferably via DM. You may also raise your concern directly on http://railmadad.indianrailways.gov.in or dial 139 for speedy redressal – RPF India,” RPF stated.
Online reactions were fierce. One user slammed the act and said, “This isn’t entertainment—it’s extortion exploiting vulnerable people,” while another demanded immediate arrest. Many compared the stunt to threatening passengers with weapons like knives or guns.
Interestingly, the incident surfaced around the same time another train-related video went viral, this one involving a woman allegedly travelling without a ticket. The clip showed her arguing with a TTE and accusing staff of misconduct, sparking fresh debate about passenger discipline and railway safety.
Both episodes have reignited discussions about security on Indian trains, with many urging stricter checks to prevent such alarming situations.
