Nagpur's Neha Ingole Wins First Prize At IEEE YESIST12 Global Finale In Malaysia
Nagpur: Neha Sunil Ingole, a research scholar from Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management , has secured first place in the Special Track category at the IEEE YESIST12 (Youth Endeavours for Social Innovation using Sustainable Technology) Global Finale held in Malaysia. Competing against participants from across the world, Neha's outstanding presentation won her the top honour along with a cash prize of $1,000.
Her project, guided by Dr Richa Khandelwal from the electronics engineering department, focused on developing a smartphone application for early detection of liver disorders and psoriasis using fingernail images. The app is designed as a non-invasive, portable and affordable diagnostic tool, with the potential to strengthen healthcare services in rural areas. The innovation also aligns with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal 3 – Good Health and Well-Being for All.
The competition saw 508 projects from eight countries, with only 36 teams making it to the finals. The jury comprised 18 eminent experts from nine countries. Neha dedicated her success to her parents and family.
