The Uttar Pradesh government has introduced an exciting new plan called the Farm Stay Scheme to help rural areas grow. This scheme mixes tourism with farming to create jobs and boost the local economy. It invites investors to build and run farm stays—special places where tourists can stay on or near working farms and enjoy village life.
Under this plan, farm stays must have at least two rooms for guests and a reception area. Visitors can try fun activities like farming, milking cows, or exploring fishponds. The goal is to show off the rich culture and traditions of rural Uttar Pradesh while helping farmers earn extra money. Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh says this will turn villages into lively spots for learning and culture.
To encourage people to join, the government is offering great benefits. Investors can get subsidies on capital investment—up to 25% for projects between ₹10 lakh and ₹10 crore, and 10% for bigger ones. Women, SC/ST, and backward-class entrepreneurs can get an extra 5% subsidy. There’s also a 5% interest relief on loans up to ₹5 crore, plus full exemptions from stamp duty, land conversion fees, and development charges. Businesses hiring 50 or more local workers will get help with EPF contributions for five years.
This scheme will create jobs and support local crafts and food. Farmers can turn their land into tourist spots without leaving their farming work. With 65 crore tourists visiting the state in 2024, this plan could bring more visitors and income to villages. It also promotes eco-friendly tourism , which is good for the environment.
The government has identified many villages with tourism potential and will provide training and support. This is a big step toward making Uttar Pradesh a leader in agri-tourism. If you love nature and want to experience real village life, this scheme might be your chance to visit soon!
