CBSE Revaluation Portal Glitch Leaves Students and Parents Frustrated
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has come under heavy criticism after the revaluation site which opened on May 19 started having technical glitches as reported by parents and students. Many students who were attempting to apply for photocopies of answer sheets, marks verification, and revaluation services had faced login failures, payment errors, and page crashes which led to high levels of anxiety and stress amongst them. CBSE in lieu of these problems have extended the deadline for revaluation by one day from 22 May to 23 May.
The issue surfaced shortly after CBSE opened its online portal for the class twelfth board exams. The CBSE had already claimed before that the newly introduced on screen marking system had created issues in the marks given to the papers. Social media platforms were flooded with students and parents complaining regarding the issues.
According to multiple student accounts shared online, the portal had either stopped working or redirected users to blank pages during payment which caused the anxiety among the students. In some cases the payment was completed but the application status remained incomplete.
Several parents had raised issues over the small timeframe given by CBSE for revaluation. Since the revaluation process was very time sensitive, the students had fears regarding the application window getting closed.

The delay has come during a very important phase for students applying for rechecking, verification of marks and reevaluation ahead of various university and professional course admissions.
Several students and parents raised their concerns on social media regarding application deadlines and portal access. Some have even raised the concern that the captcha code was not working. CBSE has stated that technical teams will continue to work on resolving the issue and have assured the students and parents that the portal will resume functioning soon.
The CBSE has repeatedly claimed that their student’s well being is of immense importance to them and because of this they will try to address this issue as early as possible.
In a social media post on X yesterday the board said that the re-evaluation mechanism provides students with a transparent and structured process to review their evaluated answer books. It added that the portal ensures that students have access to their scanned copies before initiating any request for verification or re-assessment. The CBSE has extended the last date of revaluation from May 22 to May 23 in lieu of these problems.
