The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is expected to announce the NEET PG 2025 counselling schedule soon for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), and PG diploma courses. This update comes as thousands of medical graduates prepare to secure postgraduate admission for the 2025–26 academic session.

While MCC counselling is imminent, aspirants are awaiting clarity from the Supreme Court on a transparency plea related to the NEET PG 2025 exam. Earlier, NBEMS had released the AIQ merit list, but this year’s exam underwent notable changes that prompted concerns among candidates.

Changes in NEET PG 2025 exam

The exam, conducted on August 3, 2025, was initially planned in two shifts but was later converted to a single-shift format following a Supreme Court ruling, removing the need for normalisation in ranking. NBEMS also initially announced it would release the answer key with full questions but later restricted it to question IDs, correct answers, and marked responses. Candidates challenged this decision, arguing that it is impossible to verify their scores without full questions. The top court has yet to provide an update on the hearing.

NEET PG 2025: AIQ scorecards and counselling
NBEMS is expected to release AIQ scorecards after September 5, 2025, which candidates can download for six months. Scorecards display overall NEET PG rank, All India Quota rank, and category-wise AIQ rank.

Ahead of counselling, the National Medical Commission (NMC) clarified that medical colleges do not need fresh recognition of seats but must submit the annual disclosure report and course-wise fee details.

Aspirants demand transparency
Many candidates continue to demand that NBEMS release full questions along with the answer key, citing the need to verify their results before MCC counselling begins. The counselling process will allocate seats based on AIQ ranks, but uncertainty around the transparency plea has left aspirants anxious.

With MCC counselling expected soon and the Supreme Court hearing still pending, medical graduates are closely monitoring developments to ensure a smooth admission process for NEET PG 2025.
