A long wait is finally over for aspirants of the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam. The Staff Selection Commission is poised to release the admit cards for the examinations commencing on 12 September 2025. With the city slips already accessible, candidates are now eagerly awaiting their hall tickets. According to media reports, the SSC is likely to release the admit cards on its official website, ssc.gov.in, from tomorrow, 9 September. The commission is expected to issue the admit cards three days before each examination date, starting with the 12 September paper.
The SSC CGL examination is a two-tier selection process. Tier 1 is a qualifying, computer-based test (CBT) consisting of 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions for a total of 200 marks. The exam has four sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. There is a negative marking of 0.50 marks for every incorrect answer. The duration of the exam is 60 minutes.
For Tier 2, there will be two papers. Paper 1 is compulsory for all candidates and includes modules on Mathematical Abilities, Reasoning & General Intelligence, English Language & Comprehension, General Awareness, and Computer Proficiency. Paper 2 is for candidates who apply for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and covers Statistics.

The SSC CGL Tier 1 examinations are scheduled to be held between 12 and 26 September. The commission had announced the new dates a few days ago, as the exams, which were initially set for August, had been postponed. The recruitment drive is for a total of 14,582 vacancies. While the Tier 1 examination will be conducted in multiple shifts, the SSC is preparing to hold the Tier 2 examination for successful candidates in a single shift.
Candidates who have applied for the examination can download their admit card from the commission’s official website, ssc.gov.in. To access their admit card, they will need their roll number. The admit card will contain essential information related to the examination, such as the name of the examination centre, the shift, and the reporting time. The appointment of successful candidates from this recruitment process will be for various Group B and Group C posts, including Assistant Section Officer, Income Tax Inspector, Inspector, and Assistant Enforcement Officer (AEO).
