UPSC ESE 2025: The Union Public Service Commission has started the registration process for Engineering Services Exam (ESE 2026). Candidates who want to apply for ESE 2026 can visit the official website, upsconline.nic.in to apply for the same. The last date to apply is October 16, 2025. The recruitment drive aims to fill 474 posts in the organisation. Aspirants are advised to check the eligibility criteria and other details before applying for the exam.

The ESE selection involves a three-stage process: Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and a Personality Test. Candidates must clear all stages to secure appointment.


UPSC ESE 2025: Eligibility criteria
Candidates must hold a degree in Engineering from a university established by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature , or from other educational institutions recognised under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act , 1956.

Age restrictions are strict. Applicants must be between 21 and 30 years of age as of January 1, 2026. This means candidates should have been born not earlier than January 2, 1996, and not later than January 1, 2005.

UPSC ESE: Application fees and exemptions

The application fee is ₹200 for general candidates. Female candidates, and those belonging to SC/ST/PwBD categories, are exempted from payment. Fees can be paid via State Bank of India branches, Visa/Master/RuPay credit or debit cards, UPI, or internet banking.
