Amir Khan Confirms Intimate Wedding with Gauri Spratt on July 5, Calls It a ‘Gharelu’ Celebration
Bollywood actor Amir Khan has officially confirmed that he will marry his longtime partner Gauri Spratt on July 5 in an intimate ceremony at his residence in Mumbai’s Bandra. Ending weeks of speculation, the actor shared the details of his wedding during a media interaction, describing it as a very ‘small’ and ‘gharelu’ affair attended only by close family members and a handful of close friends.
While interacting with the reporters, Amir Khan said,’Shaadi 5 July ko hai. Ghar pe hi kar rahe hain. Bhot hi choti shaadi hai. Bhot hi khaas din hai 5 tarikh hamare liye. Dono families hongi aur kuch khaas dost. Aap sab ki dua chahiye’.
The actor also confirmed that they will exchange the vows under the special marriage act, following which a private ceremony will be held at his residence. Unlike other celebrity weddings there are no plans for a grand reception or lavish public celebrations.
The wedding marks the beginning of a new chapter in Amir Khan’s personal life. The actor first introduced Guri Spratt to the media during celebrations around his 60th birthday in March 2025. Although their relationship became public last year, Amir has revealed in previous interviews that he and Gauri had known each other for many years before reconnecting. Their friendship eventually turned into a committed relationship and the couple has reportedly been together for over 2 years.
In an earlier interview with Navbharat Times, Amir spoke candidly about the happiness he has found with Gauri. He said he feels ‘at peace’ with her and described himself fortunate that she entered his life.Talking about his journey he stated “mujhe lagta hai ab mai jaake mukammal hua hoon,”meaning he now feels comfortable.
Gauri Spratt is originally from Bangalore, has worked in the fashion, beauty and wellness industry. She has largely stayed away from the lamplight despite being in a relationship with one of Bollywood's biggest stars. Reports also indicate that she is a mother to a young son.
This will be Amir Khan's third marriage. He was first married to Reena Dutta in 1986, with whom he shared 2 children - Junaid Khan and Ira Khan. The couple divorced in 2002 after 16 years of marriage. In 2005, Amir Khan married filmmaker Kiran Rao, whom he met during the making of lagaan. They announced their separation in 2001 but have continued to maintain a cordial relationship while co-parenting their son, Azad.
Amir has often spoken about the mutual respect he shares with both his former wives, emphasizing that despite the end of their marriages, the relationships remain meaningful and respectful.
According to reports both the families will attend the wedding, some close friends from the movie industry may also be there. They are keeping the guest list small so that the wedding can be private.
